| Description of Services: | Landfill, with 30% of incoming waste is treated via stabilization and solidification, as well as micro-encapsulation and macro-encapsulation. Stabilization of solid and liquid wastes is accomplished by the addition of Portland cement, cement kiln dust (CKD), or other reagents, as necessary. For macro-encapsulation, the waste is placed in a secure HDPE vault, the void space is filled with inert materials, and the vault is sealed and landfilled onsite. Micro-encapsulation is accomplished in much the same manner as stabilization, with reagents added, and then landfilled onsite. Fuel blending by direct drum to tanker transfer. The leachate generated in the landfill is treated onsite. It is pumped to leachate collection tanks and then to the onsite aqueous treatment plant. Metals are removed by lime addition followed by filtration. The solids, containing the metals, are dewatered and either disposed of onsite (if the waste meets the land disposal restriction treatment standards) or transported offsite to be incinerated. The wastewater is then treated with carbon to remove any remaining traces or organics, before being discharged to one of the onsite facultative ponds for final aeration polishing. Facility also performs commercial wastewater treatment on some incoming streams (~10% of total, where the other 90% is site generated leachate, contact stormwater, and contaminated groundwater). |
