| Description of Services: | The Fujian HW Management Center operates an incinerator. The facility is permitted to receive waste only from generators located within the Fujian province. Waste is currently received from approximately 100 different generators, including approximately 20-30 hospitals. The facility arranges most transportation of waste to the site using a third party hauler licensed to transport hazardous waste. Slag from the incinerator is disposed at an off-site landfill. Buildings were constructed for a physical-chemical operation, as well as for a solidification/stabilization operation, but equipment for these operations has never been installed. In addition, a wastewater treatment plant was also constructed, but is not currently operational. Finally, there were also long range plans for the construction of a secure hazardous waste landfill at this location, but it is unknown when this operation or the other waste processing operations will be constructed. |
