| Description of Services: | Panyu Luyou operates on a walled 200,000 square meter paved and landscaped parcel (all active). The facility consists of a variety of waste storage warehouses and operations buildings, a laboratory, administration building, apartment building for employees, and dock facilities along the adjacent Xiaghengli Waterway, which is a tributary to the Pearl River estuary located approximately 15 km to the southeast. Operating mostly during normal working hours 5 days per week, the company currently employs 1000 people. The facility currently provides 13 different waste treatment/recycling services: wastewater treatment; waste oil reclamation; waste organic solvent recycling; waste grease recycling; organic waste composting and fertilizer production; incineration; waste circuit board recycling; heavy metal sludge treatment/recycling; solid waste separation; drum reconditioning; bulk tank storage; battery recycling; and fluorescent tube recycling. There is also a plastic factory at the site which makes products from plastics recycled at the facility. Most hazardous wastes are accepted by the facility. With the exception of the waste streams that are recycled, the facility is the final treatment destination for most wastes. Residuals include wastewater (which is treated on-site and discharged to the nearby waterway), and incinerator ash (sent to an offsite landfill). Recycled materials, including solvents, oil, grease, drums, compost, mercury, phosphor and glass (from tube recycling) and batteries are sold to various local markets in the region. |
