| Description of Services: | Incinerator; wastes are received in supersacks (bags), drums, totes, roll-off bins, tank trucks, dump trucks, trucks, and vans, primarily in dedicated shipments. The facility can accept a wide array of wastes, including solid waste, paste, liquids, chlorinated organic wastes, and non-chlorinated wastes. Activities include:- Pre-treatment, which is limited to decanting wastes from drums into smaller containers, and the removal of wastes from supersacks, or the halving of supersacks. Flammable liquid re-packing used to be conducted, but was ceased due to safety concerns (year not provided). Likewise, blending of wastes used to take place, but has also ceased (year not provided). The pre-treatment is essentially a size reduction to allow the waste to be fed into and combusted in the kiln.
- Incineration of wastes, gasses, liquids, and solids, in a rotary kiln, 1.6 meters in diameter, and 6 meters long. Rotary kiln technology utilizes a counter flow of waste, and fuel.
- Effluent treatment of quench water and scrubber water consisting of an equalization step, followed by three pre-treatment tanks used to adjust the pH and precipitate metals and suspended solids. The solids are further treated in a filter press, and the liquids are passed through a sand filter, and placed into a process tank for re-use.
